This is a handcrafted porcelain bowl. The vivid blue pattern is like a landscape in a film photograph, has a beauty that makes you want to look at it forever.

The pattern is created by Neriage, a technique of combining two or more colors of clay and forming them on a potter’s wheel, and then dismantling and converting them into a slab build. This intricate production process can be viewed in this YouTube video.

The bowl is a unique, high-level handcrafted ceramic work, created using the highly challenging techniques of wheel throwing, Neriage, and thin sheets of clay that are handled like origami.

With a shiny, crack-free glaze that increases water resistance and antibacterial properties, it looks like a work of art but is also suitable for everyday use. Microwave and dishwasher safe, they are versatile and useful at the table as salad bowls, dessert cups, and as vessels for hummus and dipping sauces.

*As the pieces are hand-built and there are slight differences in shape from piece to piece, please avoid stacking them on top of each other.

*The pattern varies from piece to piece, but the design is the same.

Care Information

  • Hand wash: Most of Saori M Stoneware items are dishwasher-safe, but hand washing is recommended. Please use mild soap and warm water. Avoid harsh chemicals or metal sponges that can scratch the surface of the glaze or clay.
  • Avoid extreme temperature changes: Sudden changes in temperature can cause handmade ceramics to crack or break. Avoid placing ceramics directly on a stovetop or in the oven, as well as placing them in the freezer.
  • Do Not Stack: To avoid scratches or chips, use protective padding such like papers, cloth when stacking ceramic dishes or bowls to store.
  • Dry Storing: Avoid storing ceramics in a damp or humid environment in long term, as it can cause mold to the piece.
